It looks like the upcoming Sony Xperia Z4 made its way through the FCC. Yesterday, a mysterious Sony phone with model name - PM-0780 passed the FCC certification process. Samsung Galaxy J7 revealed in user agent profile leak

New information has surfaced about an upcoming Samsung device - the Galaxy J7. It belongs to the budget-oriented family of the Galaxy J1, which was released in February and it will probably be the Korean giant's next budget phablet offer. The bulk of the information comes from a leaked user agent profile from Samsung's database. According to it, the phone, bearing the model SM-J700F, will feature power-efficient Cortex A53 cores, clocked at 1.5 GHz. It also reveals that the screen will have a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and judging by Samsung's recent naming convention the 7 probably signifies a screen size of 5.5-inches, just like the Galaxy A7 and E7. There is still no information about the handset's RAM, storage and camera setup, but tracking information from zauba.com, reveals that sample units are already on their way to India for testing, so it shouldn't be too long before we hear some more information about the upcoming Galaxy J7. Thanks for the tip Michel Source 1 | Source 2 |...

LG G3 users on T-Mobile receive an update to Android Lollipop

In the United States, LG started rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop for G3 owners on the Sprint and AT&T network since early February. And now, LG G3 owners on T-Mobile also received the firmware update. LG G3 owners on the T-Mobile network don't have to wait for an OTA update to Android Lollipop. The firmware is available via the LG Mobile Support Tool for a PC. With the LG Mobile Support Tool, all users need to do is connect the T-Mobile LG G3 to a PC or Mac to install the new update. The latter carries software version D85120b and build version LRX21Y. Android Lollipop brings Material Design with fluid animations, 3D views, and multi-colored themes to LG G3. A brand new ART runtime is also implemented. Source |...

Lollipop arrives for LG G2 phones on Vodafone Italy

The Lollipop update for the LG G2 is expanding- starting from South Korea, it already hit US carrier Verizon and it has now arrived at Vodafone in Italy and Spain. The update seems to be limited to Vodafone devices. It will bump the software version to V30D and can be downloaded over the air or installed from a computer. You can also manually grab the file and flash it, if you know how. Note that only the 16GB model is getting updated in Italy and that ROM is not compatible with the 32GB model....

Carphone Warehouse will not carry the Apple Watch at launch

In another episode of Apple's marketing strategy for its Watch, we've now learned that Carphone Warehouse will be left out of the initial launch and won't be offering the wearable on April 24. The info has been revealed by no other than Graham Stapleton, CEO of UK's biggest cellphone retailer. Or as he cautiously put it: "We would love to be able to stock the Apple Watch. I've got to be careful what I say but I think they are just going another way with it. We have not been given the opportunity." Apple was previously negotiating with fashion retailer Nordstrom to carry the Watch and rumor has it that in the US Best Buy was denied the wearable as well. Apparently, Apple wants the Watch to be perceived more as a fashion statement, than a piece of tech and is marketing it accordingly. Aiming to create a more upmarket image for the Watch, Apple is reportedly planning to build dedicated Watch shops at high-end department stores in London, Paris and Japan. The company is also managing the stores directly, presumably to keep markups within the company. So far we've also learned that Apple has been clearing its own stores from any products remotely competitive to the Watch, namely various smartbands. Rumor also has it that you won't be able to just drop by a store and pick up an Apple Watch, instead you can just try it on and then order it...

Samsung Galaxy S6 edge survives over 20 minutes under water

Samsung didn't waterproof the new Galaxy S6 and S6 edge like it did with their predecessor. So, what happens if you drop your Galaxy S6 edge in water? TechSmartt decided to find out and dunked the an S6 edge into a bowl of water with the stopwatch running. The phone lasted over 20 minutes before powering off. That's a lot more than can be expected from a phone with no official water resistance rating, but it was not without taking some damage. After some drying and charging the Galaxy S6 edge came back to life, though there was still water in the device (visible in the front-facing camera. The phone also tended to reboot or even not boot at all after the experiment. So, definitely don't go put your Galaxy S6/S6 edge in water on purpose, though it looks like it has a good chance of surviving an accidental drop if you pull it out quickly and dry it properly. Note that depths plays a part, an IPX7 rating for example specifies up to 1m of water. Source |...

Apple planning to release three new iPhones later this year

Apple has built a formidable track record of sticking with pretty much the same release cycle for its iPhone models. Handset releases come a year apart and have mostly been following a "tick-tock" scheme with the S models. Ever since the iPhone 5, we have begun to expect a new iPhone every September and there is no reason to believe the Cupertino tech giant will deviate from this schedule with the next round of smartphones. A new rumor, courtesy of industry inside sources, has come to our attention that might shed some light on the upcoming phones. And, we have to say, it is pretty much what everybody expected. According to the information, Apple is working on two natural successors to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, named iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. But there is still somewhat of a plot twist in the story, as the US company will allegedly be bringing back the infamous C model, in the form of the iPhone 6C. This is quite an odd choice, indeed, seeing how the iPhone 5C was quite a failure and widely regarded as a shameless effort to trick buyers, not to mention an affront to Apple's trademark style. But, perhaps, sales report tell a different story and make the idea of a iPhone 6C a viable market strategy. The rumor goes on to detail that the C model will feature a 4-inch display, which is kind of odd, seeing how the form factor was last seen a generation ago in the iPhone 5c and 5s, so there might still be hope that the 6C is more than a stripped down iPhone 6. The is further proved by the rumor that all three devices will be equipped with LTPS panels, courtesy of Japan Display and LG for the 6S models, as well as Sharp for the 6C. Then again, the two 6S version should be powered by the all new A9 chip, while the rumor states that the 6C will have the A8, found in current models, so things can still go either way for the little handset. We have also heard that the iPhone 6S will pack 2GB of LPDDR4 RAM in a previous rumor. Corning Gorilla Glass, NFC and fingerprint scanning technology will also be found in all of the models. Wistron should be in charge of manufacturing the 6C units and the rest are left to Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) and Pegatron. We should note, that the above is a rumor and while it does sound pretty logical and believable, should be taken with a grain of salt, perhaps even a...
